Percussive Bowing (Chop) Notation While the notation for the percussive bowing technique known as "chopping" has remained relatively static for the past 20 years, the technique has continued to evolve. In consultation with Oriol Saña, Darol Anger and other choppers, we have developed an update to standardise chop notation, hoping to more accurately communicate chopping as it is currently practiced.
